The year that was... [Topic]
In class, we have been recapping what has happened in the past year, sort of the reverse of a letter to your future self. Instead of writing what you want to happen in the future, you write about what has happened in the past!

Summer Learning Journey, day 3 [Topic]
Today, I have decided to write about someone who has a positive impact on my life. I chose to do someone called Clara.
"Dahlia is a positive impact on my life. She is rebellious, if not a difficult person. She, despite being someone who causes trouble, cares for her family, and friends. Dahlia, when put in a situation when most would have given up, she didn't give up and succeeded."

Summer learning Journey, Day 1 [Topic]
In class, we were doing part of the 'teaser week' of the 'Summer learning journey'. For day 1, we had the choice of doing a DLO for a few people who worked in 'Art and Entertainment'. One of those people was Lorde, so I did her.

Passion Project [Topic]
In class, we are making passion projects. For those who don't know what that is, it is a DLO of your choice about a subject. We had criteria to do it on something we didn't know a lot about, so I chose 'Alice in Wonderland (The Book)'. Here it is!

Kaitaia Animation [Topic]
In class recently, we have been making animations or storybooks for 5 - 8-year-olds. The stories had to be about how a place got its name in Muriwhenua. I chose Kaitaia, and this is the animation.

My future career options [Topic]
In class recently, we have been looking at careers. We would go onto careers.govt.nz and do 'Careerquest', a quiz that would find jobs that match your interests. From the results, we had to choose 5 careers to put into this Career Project. I hope you enjoy this!

Te Whare Tapa Wha [Health]
In Health, we had been looking at 'Te Whare Tapa Wha', or the 4 types of health last term. To showcase the learning, we had to create an infographic with Te Whare Tapa Wha and what the health types were. I hope you enjoy mine.

Netiquette [Cybersmart]
For the past few weeks in our class, we have been creating 'Netiquette' DLO's. It took a few weeks because of all the interruptions, with the end of the school year being close, in fact only a week away. Netiquette is how you behave online. The word is a merge of 'Net', as in Internet, and 'etiquette', or how you behave in general.
For the DLO, we had to create a character to explain netiquette. My one is 'Cybersmart Saphrina'. Her qualities are blue dipped red hair, green eyes, freckles, white T-shirt and blue denim jacket.

Tribes of Muriwhenua [Topic]
Last week, for topic we were creating a slideshow about the tribes of Muriwhenua, the tribes in Northland. I had found it easy to write about the colonisation of New Zealand, but I found it difficult sometimes to put the stories into my own words. I managed it in the end, though.
Do you like the stories of the tribes? If you do, what part do you like about it?

Stranger danger [reading]
Last week our class had been given safety magazines containing information about how to be safe around railways, water, dogs, bullies and roads. We then created posters, DLO's or dioramas about one of the items you should be safe around.
Legend animation [writing]
For writing this week we had to create a storybook or animation about a legend of one of the areas in the far north. I created an animation about Tokerau, and here it is.

Google Docs NINJA Challenge [Cyber smart]
Last week we started the 'Google Docs NINJA Challenge', and I completed it today. It has four stages, each with more difficult things to do. I found it difficult to find some tools, but only because they had different names! But I still had fun.

School Camp [Out-of-school Activities]
From the 30th of October to the 2nd of November most of our class were on camp. There were people working there and it was fun to learn about them. We had done things in 4 different groups, and 5 rotations. First I had done watersliding, then the next day we had done motorbiking, then raft building, then horseriding and on the second to last day, Thursday, we did the 'Mud run', and kayaking. I personally think that camp would be more satisfying for someone outdoorsy, but I still had fun even if I'm easier pictured indoors. Do you think you would have had fun there?
